Romantic Rooftop Proposal

Sweetest + well executed “Merry Me”

It’s always special be be part of special moments with our flowers, whether a first date, wedding, anniversary celebration or ENGAGEMENT. It’s even more special when we get to be part of an incredible vendor team AND get the back story. Max wanted this proposal to be one of the sweetest, most romantic, and well executed proposals ever!…And wouldn’t you agree that it is!?!!# Plotting the big day began about a month in advance. There was so much more than getting Kate to the rooftop on time!

Originally, Max had intended to propose on either Christmas or New Years, but with the help of his mom, Krista – a wedding and event planner – a date was selected that would stand forever on its own! And, be more of a surprise! (Kate is something of a sleuth) Max secretly worked on creating an event as special and unique as his and Kate’s relationship. All of “Kitty’s” favorite things to do and the things closest to her heart came to mind for the big day. From having family and friends there to surprise her, to brunching and a staycation at her favorite hotel, no detail was spared!

Plotting the big day began about a month in advance. Max made sure Kate had the weekend off work and had big plans with her Dad. Fake plans were made along the way to distract Kate from thinking a proposal was in the cards that weekend aka a family dinner and a nail appointment for friends’ event. Unfortunately, on Friday night Kate’s dad had to “cancel” their weekend zoo date and to cheer her up Max suggested a “Kate Day” on Saturday. They went to brunch at their favorite spot, Freehouse, with some of their best brunch pals and then had a few brews at new spot in the North Loop. Next on the schedule was a surprise staycation at the Hewing Hotel and happy hour at the rooftop bar. Meanwhile, on the rooftop, Krista and team are busy setting up the perfect proposal. Not one detailed was spared: The sweetest little cake, a charming bouquet, a neon Marry Me sign were set up amongst the beautiful Minneapolis skyline. Friends and family from all over gathered in the lobby downstairs and one lucky photographer braved the Minnesota cold to get the perfect shot!

All Max needed to do now was get Kate to the rooftop on time! A quick elevator ride up and a short walk through the rooftop bar, Max led Kate out onto the terrace where his big secret was about to be revealed. At first glimpse she saw rose petals scattered on the ground and a Marry Me sign surrounded by candles. After the initial shock settled, Max took her hand and gave her a special note, following by him getting down on one knee and asking, “Marry Me and be my happily ever after?” After an easy YES from Kate, the bubbly was popped, and the celebration began…or so she thought. To continue the night Max led Kate down to the lobby for what she thought would be a simple dinner with family, but after exiting the elevator and a slight glance to the left, Kate found out something else was in store for her. All their closest friends and family had gathered in the lobby to celebrate their new beginning! SURPRISE!
